Halidzor Fortress
Near the city of Kapan, on the hills of Voghdji river one can find the ruins of the Halidzor fortress and the church built in its neighbourhood. It was constructed in the 17th century as a nunnery. However, in the 18th century during the war against Persians it became the military headquarters of Davit-Bek (18th century hero of the liberation movement). After being killed in that war Davit-Bek was buried in the cemetery of the fortress.
