Hayravank monastery

The Hayravank monastery is located in Hayravanq village of the Gegharkunik district. It’s situated on the shore of Lake Sevan on the rocky headland. This Monastery has other names too, which are “Ayrivank”, “Hayrivank”, “Hayr Hohank”, “Hayr Hovhan”, “Hayr Hovhanavank” etc.
Saint Stepanos of Haravank was built during the period from 4 to 9 centuries. As the result of the researches habitations and dwellings, clay idol, numerous vessels were found on the territory of church . Hayravank represents a church and chapels built during different period of times. The Monastery is surrounded with khachkars and gravestones. The light penetrated through the window of the monastery is lightening the inner side of this structure.
